IDAP Security team attacked in attempted bombing - 3 dead

Explosions rock La Trinité during routine aid operation

Terror struck last Sunday, as an explosion rang out during a routine IDAP aid operation in La Trinité. According to several eye witnesses, a grenade landed near the news stand in the center of the city and caused superficial property damage. No one on site was injured.

FROG, IDAPs security provider, tried to locate the person responsible, which was initially unsuccessful. Local GP - La Trinité forces, who arrived in force after the explosion, took over the security position. According to FROG, they later found the perpetrator in their car on the outskirts of the town, who proceeded to flee the scene. After a short car chase to the outskirts of Dourdan, shots were traded and the perpetrator incapacitated. During the administration of medical aid onto the perpetrator, an explosive device in his backpack detonated, killing himself, 2 FROG personnel and destroying his car and a vehicle owned by FROG. All three dead bodies were recovered.

The autopsy report, provided by IDAP, states that all three people died immediately in the blast. According to FROG, they are yet to conclusively identify the man.

This marks the second incident in as many weeks involving FROG personnel and the first incident with FROG casualties. Ethan, an IDAP worker, commended the swift action by FROG and highlighted their dedication to the IDAP personnel’s safety.. According to the aid worker, a local resident who had allowed FROG to take a position on his roof has been giving rations and extra water.
