Malden's Président Moulin Declared Missing In Action
Président Moulin officially declared missing - Guérilla declares victory
Colonel César Maçon of the Armée de Republique de Malden has announced that Président Moulin is Missing in Action. The Président had been increasingly elusive towards the press as the situation of the war worsened for the Republique over the last few weeks. Colonel Maçon denied that the Président had been captured and rumors do suggest that he has fled, rather than having been captured.
The Guérilla Populaire celebrated the news and has already announced that they intend to pressure the current government for a full handover of power. Although this exchange would be largely ceremonial, given the reality of the war and everyday life, it would, nonetheless, enable the new government to interact at a global stage.

Several nations, including Portugal, EU member states, Russia and China, have already confirmed that they would be willing to send diplomatic probes to Malden in the coming weeks to assess the humanitarian situation, discuss aid plans and, potentially re-establish diplomatic ties. The Portuguese Minister of Foreign Affairs had harshly condemned the actions of the Moulin regime, and in a recent interview stated experiencing a feeling of relief at the ultimate outcome of the war.
The GP of La Trinité has already announced that talks with the humanitarian NGO IDAP had started, in order to gain their cooperation and easen the impact of the war felt on everyday people; according to sources from both sides, the talks have been inconclusive as of yet. The ultimate outcome remains to be seen.
